And now you’re offending God.

A friend sent me an article, about a recent survey conducted of 35,000 people. 57% of evangelical church attenders believe that many religions can lead to eternal life.

The article goes on to say: “Some Christians hold strongly to Jesus’ words as described in John 14:6: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Others emphasize the wideness of God’s grace.” Darn right I hold strongly to Jesus’ words on this one. In the age of tolerance and exceptance, we are minimizing the need for Christ in our lives. The reality of sin, and its offence to God is being shoved aside.

So, so very many martyrs were willing to die for their beliefs. So very many knew that they were clinging to the only way of salvation – on their way to the Colosseum, or the stake, or the chopping block. And we no longer understand that kind of trust in God, at least not here in North America.

It is like Driscoll said though, when you are so busy not trying to offend man, “now you’re offending God.”

“Because you cannot please everybody, I compromise by trying to please nobody. BUt trying to get the truth out and trust that the Spirit of God will apply it, and that the hungry sheep will come to the pasture field.” Tozer

Let us not compromise truth in an age of tolerance. Jesus Christ our Lord is the way.
