I’m not sure if this is what you were looking for Nikk, but you know how one thought often leads to another.

I think that some of the most recent post modernism stuff is pretty original, (well within the last however many years anyways)…

It’s been said before that there are no absolute truths but I think the reasoning that there can’t be any absolute truths because language is open for interpretation is pretty new, at least to the extreme that it’s been taken.

I think that Erwin McManus has a few original ideas, like when he says that a pastor has the, “unique task of leading the people of God to become who they really are.” (an unstoppabe force). I don’t know about you guys but I think that’s pretty ‘original’.

Rob Bell’s Velvet Elvis is full of ‘original’ ideas that I had never heard before.

Benny Hinn has a lot of original ideas!

Thankfully we have the solid Word of God, so that no matter what our thoughts are, original or otherwise, we have God’s word to turn to for truth.

I guess my question would be “are they original thoughts?” Or, are we merely recycling old thoughts? Is there any new philosophy, or approach to life that has not been done before?

Solomon said there is nothing new under the sun – understanding of course he never meant cell phones or motorcycles – are there new ideas, or understandings of our world?

    you got me… hmmm…

I’m not coming up with any. I do see, though, waves of things that Christian culture views as “priority.” It may be a new revelation to us personally, but nothing that wasn’t already experienced in a previous wave. Does that make sense?
