Alright, not always a new year’s resolution kinda girl, but I thought this year I would take a shot at a few – but in verse – memorize these, and try to live them. In no particular order:
1. James 5:16b ”The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”
2. 1 Corinthians 6:19,20 “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”
3. James 1:19 “Let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak…” and Ephesians 4:29 “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.”
4. 1 Timothy 6:12a “Fight the good fight of the faith.”
5. 1 Corinthians 10:31 “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
It’s a start…. will add to this throughout the year, I am sure…..
6. Proverbs 27:2 “Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, and not your own lips.”

I like number 3 but the next part is the kicker for me it’s “Let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger, for the anger of man does not acheive the righteousness of God”

And I struggle less with anger (not to say I don’t get angry) than I do with careless words…
